Low cost computing

Interesting article on the BBC News site about a low cost PC/TV Hybrid project.
This is something I’ve been thinking about for some time - how the benefits of the internet can be accessible to the poorest of communities in developing nations.

Although a solution is a way off, I was very interested in how the problems was being tackled by Prof Raj Reddy. He claims you can’t view this as a charitable cause, rather that you have to create a proposition that’s compelling enough for the users to make sacrifices for in the way they currently do for TV.
